This site gives a great deal of reference support about how to write an essay. It helps you to understand the basic structures that you will see in the academic part of this site.
Offers guides to efficient essay writing。 Includes essay writing basics, a thorough description of different essay types, and writing tips。
The ESL-LAB online language labratory. Although this uses American English it is a huge and well organised resource of audio files with multiple choice and fill in the gap tasks. It has material for every level.
The California Distance Learning Project is also from the USA and uses articles from CNN for a wide range of vocabulary and comprehension exercises. Again, it is a very large resource and the exercises recycle new vocabulary items. Most of the exercises have audio or even movie files as well. Most of the material is suitable for intermediate and above.
Flo-Joe is an English site devoted to the Cambridge general English exams (FCE, CAE and PCE). It is full of advice for students and teachers. It includes model answers and a wide variety of interactive exercises. It is frequently updated.
The Victoria University of Wellington in New Zealand has an EAP specific selection of exercises that are organised into a module of work. These can be followed in order, or useful aspects can be completed.
Musical English lessons is also based near Ramsgate. There are a range of resources here, including a wide variety of exercises which can be used with popular songs.
